First Impressions of The Haight

I have been to the Haight several times before I actually started blogging about it. It has always been this unique place where its culture is completely different from the rest of San Francisco.
I would call Haight-Ashbury the home of the hippies. Where people choose to be homeless just because they prefer that kind of lifestyle. The homeless on Haight are not the stereotypical homeless people that other’s are scared of.
The people living on the streets of Haight are friendly most of the time and often want to talk to the people passing by. They are also often rolling blunts but to someone who has lived in San Francisco for about four years now and who has been to the Haight several times this is not something super out of the ordinary.
Haight St. consists of many little clothing boutiques, thrift shops, restaurants, bars and tattoo shops.
Almost everyone that I would talk to was friendly enough to give me the information I was asking for and just have a casual conversation with and if they did not have the answers that I wanted then they would point me in the right direction.
Haight is definitely a hipster magnet but they’re all cool people so I can’t complain.
